Web Ring Information Page

Ring Mistress: Schoolmarm

Welcome to the home of the European History Web Collection. This is the place to find out what this ring is about! But most importantly, webmasters of quality sites can join the ring and current members can access the tools they need to manage their site within the ring all in one convenient spot

The purpose of this ring is to link sites together that contain information about European History. If you are unfamiliar with Net or Web Rings, they link together different Internet sites. A person finding the European History Web Collection's logo can visit every member's site, without having to use a search engine or know the other sites' address. A site covering any aspect of European History may join the ring, as long as the page is suitable for ALL age groups.

Clarification of Ring Guidelines

Sites submitted for admission to the ring:

  • Must contain information or other resources relevant to European History.
  • Be content-based on historical fact: Occult and Wicca sites are generally not accepted
  • Be suitable for all age groups: No offensive material please.
  • Be freely viewable: Commerical Sites are not encouraged to join unless considerable historical content is available. Ring Mistress has final determination of eligibility.

[Step 2] Placement of the HTML Fragment / Navigation Panel on your site:

  • Place the ring's navigation panel on your site immediately after submitting your site for review by the ring master. It must be in place when the ring master checks the site.
  • Several styles of navigation panels are available for you to choose from. The only requirement is that one of the Ring's Logos with navigation links must be displayed clearly on the page URL supplied on the "join form". Please do not alter graphics in any way. When I or another viewer visits your site, the navigation panel should be easy to find.
  • If the navigation panel is not easily seen on the page listed on the submit form, then the owner will be notified of the problem and it must be fixed before the site can be admitted to the ring. If the site is already a member, that site will be moved to the queue and will have 7 days to fix the problem. After 7 days, the site will be automatically deleted from the queue and the owner would have to resubmit the form above to re-enter the ring.

Here is one example of the required navigation panel for your site and this is the code provided to you pre-customised when joining the ring. If you choose this version, make sure that you download the graphic file (euromap.gif) then upload the image to your server in the same directory as your page containing the code. -- (Right click on the image map to download the graphic file)

If your email provider messes up the code when it is parsed through their system (ie. AOL), obtain a fresh copy by using the member form below. **Note: You will not see this image on the edit pages when you retrieve the code, because the image must be uploaded to your site.

Just click the link below it to view the other choices available and receive further instructions and codes.
